The Literary Work of Imaginary Poets
2025
Release Date: COMING SOON
The Literary Work of Imaginary Poets is an LGBTQIA+ story about love, grief, and everything in-between. The film centers around a young woman named Calliope (aka Cal), who moves into a new apartment and receives a letter addressed to the previous tenant, who has since passed away. Against Cal’s better judgment, she decides to respond, posing as the deceased. Letters fly between her and the mysterious Parker, a woman also of Cal’s age. They use poems to express their feelings, relying on others’ words instead of their own. During this time, Cal envisions many different possibilities for what Parker may look like. Through this, the film showcases a variety of women of all different shapes, sizes and appearances. Love does not have a certain “look,” it exists everywhere, amongst everyone. We are all capable of giving and receiving it. Eventually, Cal and Parker meet in person, revealing Cal’s true identity and the nature of their relationship.
